You've been putting up with it long enough.

Maybe it's the persistent ache that won't shift. The hormones that feel out of sync. The exhaustion that's become your baseline. Or the monthly pain you've quietly accepted as just part of life.

You've tried things. You're still here. That means something hasn't clicked yet — and that's exactly why people from Yarm, Eaglescliffe, Stockton, Thornaby, and Ingleby Barwick make the short drive to our clinic in Middlesbrough.

When we don't address what's happening in the body, it rarely stays still. The sleep gets worse. The energy drops. The symptoms compound. Pain that started as a background inconvenience becomes the thing that shapes your week.

None of this is inevitable. But it does require something more than hoping it settles on its own.

TCM acupuncture works with your body's own regulatory systems.

It stimulates specific points that influence circulation, hormonal signalling, nervous system activity, and inflammatory response. In plain terms: it helps your body do what it's already trying to do, more effectively. NICE guidelines recognise acupuncture for chronic primary pain, migraines, and tension-type headaches. For many people, it works well alongside conventional care.

What we treat

Clients from Yarm and the surrounding area come to us for a wide range of conditions. When treatment is tailored to you specifically — your sleep, your digestion, your stress, your history — the results can be genuinely surprising.

  • Chronic pain and musculoskeletal conditions — back pain, sciatica, migraines, fibromyalgia, and joint pain. NICE recommends acupuncture for chronic primary pain and headache conditions.
  • Hormonal health and menopause — hot flushes, night sweats, mood changes, irregular cycles, and the transition into perimenopause.
  • Anxiety, stress, and sleep — nervous system regulation for people who feel wired, depleted, or both. Addressed through body acupuncture with Deanna and ear acupuncture with Anthony.
  • Pregnancy and postpartum — nausea, pelvic discomfort, breech presentation, and postnatal recovery.
  • General wellbeing — when you know something's off but can't quite put your finger on what.

What happens at your first appointment

Not knowing what to expect is one of the most common reasons people put off booking. Here's how it goes.

  1. You arrive and settle in
The clinic is calm and unhurried. Parking is right outside. There's no waiting room atmosphere — just a quiet space to decompress before we start.
  2. A proper conversation
Your initial session is 75 minutes. We talk through what's brought you here, your health history, your sleep, your digestion, your cycles, your stress. All of it matters. Nothing is irrelevant in TCM.
  3. Treatment begins
Fine sterile needles are placed at specific points on the body. Most people feel a mild, brief sensation and then very little. Many drift off. You rest for around 20 to 30 minutes while the treatment takes effect.
  4. Honest advice on what's next
At the end of the session we'll talk through what was observed and what a realistic plan looks like. You decide what works for you. No pressure and no obligation to commit to anything on the day.

Things people often wonder before booking

"I've never tried acupuncture before."

Most people haven't. The initial consultation is designed with that in mind. Deanna explains what's happening throughout and why. The needles are very fine, the sensation is usually mild, and the most common response is that people wish they'd started sooner.

"Is it worth making the trip from Yarm?"

Clients from Yarm, Eaglescliffe, Thornaby, and Ingleby Barwick come to us regularly. The drive from the TS15 area is around 15 minutes. Most people find the session itself is worth considerably more than the journey.

"How do I know it will work for me?"

We don't make promises we can't keep. What we can point to is 800+ five-star reviews from real clients, a practitioner with degree-level TCM training and postgraduate specialist qualifications, and a treatment approach built around your specific situation rather than a generic protocol.

"I've tried other things and they haven't helped."

That's one of the most common things we hear. TCM addresses the pattern behind the symptoms, not just the symptoms themselves. That distinction is often what makes the difference for people who've felt stuck elsewhere.
