You are not alone in this

IVF asks a lot of you.
You deserve support that keeps up.

The injections. The scans. The waiting rooms. The blood tests that come back and mean something you have to look up at midnight because nobody quite explained it. The way your body stops feeling like yours for a while.

And the emotional weight of it. The hope you carry into every cycle. The grief when things don't go to plan. The exhaustion of having to stay positive when you're running low.

Most people going through IVF — whether they're being treated at James Cook University Hospital, the London Women's Clinic in Darlington, or a clinic further afield — are surrounded by brilliant medical professionals. But they don't always have time to sit with the whole picture. The whole you.

"You don't have to white-knuckle your way through this. You deserve someone in your corner who understands both the medicine and the person going through it."

Roots To Transfer™ was built to be exactly that. A specialist, consistent, fully personalised support structure — starting 12 weeks before your transfer, so that by the time that day arrives, you have done everything within your power to prepare.

The gap nobody talks about

What your clinic measures.
What Deanna looks at.

Your IVF clinic is exceptional at what it does. But there is a whole picture your clinic doesn't have time to see — and that picture can make a significant difference to your outcome.

Your IVF clinic monitors
  • FSH, AMH & AFC
  • Sperm parameters
  • Follicle growth on scan
  • Endometrial lining thickness
  • Embryo quality & grading
  • Hormone levels during stimulation
Deanna also looks at
  • Uterine blood flow & receptivity patterns
  • Nervous system regulation & cortisol load
  • Immune markers & inflammatory patterns
  • Nutritional deficiencies affecting implantation
  • Cycle-phase patterns your clinic has no time to explore
  • Emotional & psychological load affecting outcomes

"Acupuncture isn't magic. It's regulation, consistency, and timing. The clinic does its job brilliantly. My job is everything they don't have time to look at."

You're in the right place if…

Who is Roots To Transfer™ for?

This programme is designed for anyone on an assisted conception pathway — regardless of how you're conceiving or who you're conceiving with.

Heterosexual Couples

Preparing for IVF or IUI. Where there is a male sperm factor, your partner can be included in sessions to support sperm health alongside your preparation.

Same-Sex Couples

Using donor sperm or donor eggs, preparing for a reciprocal IVF cycle, or navigating any assisted pathway together. All family structures are warmly welcome.

Solo Parents

Using donor conception to start your family on your own terms. You deserve the same level of support — and all 13 session credits are yours entirely.

After a Failed Cycle

You've been through a failed transfer, miscarriage, or cancelled cycle and you're going back in. You want to know you've done everything within your power this time. Many of Deanna's strongest outcomes have followed exactly this moment.

Frozen Embryo Transfer

Preparing your uterine lining and nervous system for a frozen transfer, including after a failed fresh cycle. This phase of the programme is especially focused for FET clients.

IUI Preparation

Preparing for intrauterine insemination on an NHS or private pathway, with or without stimulation. Sessions are tailored to your specific protocol.

This programme may not be the right fit if…

  • You have already started stimulation or are within 4 weeks of your transfer date
  • You are looking for a one-off session rather than structured preparation
  • Your clinic or GP has specifically advised against complementary therapies

If you are unsure, please book a consultation. Deanna will always be honest about whether this is the right fit — even if that means pointing you elsewhere.

The programme

13 specialist sessions.
12 weeks of preparation.
Complete support.

Roots To Transfer™ works alongside your IVF clinic, not instead of it. Every session is timed to your cycle phase, your protocol, and what your body needs at that specific moment.

9 Weekly Preparation Sessions

Weekly sessions across the first 9 weeks, each timed to your stimulation phase and cycle stage. Nothing generic — every appointment is built around where you are that week.

Egg Collection & Transfer Sessions

Up to 4 sessions timed to the most critical days: one before egg collection, and up to three around your transfer — before, on the day, and one week post-transfer to support the implantation window.

Priority Diary Access

Your slot is secured for the full programme. IVF dates shift — your access to Deanna doesn't. Flexibility is built in to accommodate your clinic's timeline.

Between-Session Email Support

Direct email access to Deanna when scan results come in, protocol questions arise, or you simply need a grounded expert voice before your next appointment.

Nutrition & Supplement Guidance

Personalised recommendations based on your health history, test results, and protocol. Evidence-informed, practical, and always coordinated with your clinic's guidance.

Nervous System Support Throughout

The psychological weight of IVF is real and it affects outcomes. Every session includes nervous system regulation — because how you feel matters as much as what your body is doing.

Pregnancy Support if You Conceive

If your transfer is successful, your remaining credits move into first trimester pregnancy acupuncture. The care continues.

Pause if Your Cycle is Delayed

IVF cycles are cancelled and rescheduled. Your programme can be paused if your clinic delays your cycle — credits are valid for 9 months from purchase.

Your journey

What happens across your 12 weeks

Every session builds on the last. This is cumulative preparation — not isolated appointments squeezed around your clinic visits.

Weeks 1–4 Foundations

A thorough review of your full medical and fertility history, previous cycle data, test results, and current protocol. Treatment begins with nervous system regulation, uterine blood flow support, and addressing any underlying patterns — ovarian reserve, lining quality, immune markers, hormonal balance.

Weeks 5–8 Protocol Support

Sessions align with your stimulation protocol. Acupuncture supports follicular development, reduces the physical side effects of medication, and keeps your nervous system regulated through the most intense part of your cycle. Nutrition and supplement guidance is refined based on what's emerging.

Weeks 9–12 Transfer Readiness

Treatment shifts to uterine receptivity — endometrial lining quality, blood flow, immune regulation, and emotional preparation for transfer. For frozen transfer clients, this phase is especially focused. Everything builds toward one moment.

Egg Collection & Transfer — Up To 4 Sessions

The final phase is the most intensive. One session before egg collection supports follicular blood flow and reduces anxiety on retrieval day. Then up to three sessions around your transfer: one before to relax the uterus and increase endometrial blood flow, one shortly after to support implantation conditions, and a final session seven days post-transfer during the critical implantation window. This is the part of the programme most clients say they wouldn't want to be without.

The evidence

What the research tells us

Roots To Transfer™ is built on what the evidence shows — that preparation, timing, and whole-person support improves IVF outcomes in a measurable way.

Three figures worth knowing before you decide.

65%

Reduction in anxiety and depression scores in IVF patients receiving acupuncture, compared to controls

Smith et al., Fertility & Sterility

42%

Improvement in clinical pregnancy rates in women receiving acupuncture alongside IVF in a systematic review of randomised trials

Manheimer et al., BMJ (2008)

61%

Live birth rate for women receiving whole-systems TCM care including acupuncture, versus 48% with conventional IVF alone

People who trusted the process

★★★★★

I found Deanna to be very knowledgeable, empathetic and supportive of the IVF journey I was on. Deanna put my care first, even rearranging appointments last minute when my clinic dates changed so I could still have acupuncture at the times most beneficial during stimulation, retrieval and implantation phases. Acupuncture provided me with much needed calm and self care away from all the noise around the IVF process. I'm now 30 weeks pregnant.

★★★★★

I can't recommend Deanna enough. I began seeing her for acupuncture to support me through my 8th cycle of IVF, and from the very start she was amazing. She is highly knowledgeable, compassionate and genuinely cares about her clients. Our cycle of IVF was successful and I'm so grateful for her support.

— Nikki Morgan · IVF success · Middlesbrough

★★★★★

Despite all the steps of IVF I was following to give us a family, acupuncture felt like something I was doing not just to help my outcome — but something I was doing purely for me. My appointments were the best thing I did to find calm amongst the noise, all the uncertainty of would it work or not. I'm 30 weeks pregnant today.

Common concerns

Things that might be holding you back

"My clinic hasn't mentioned acupuncture."

Most IVF clinics don't recommend or discourage complementary therapies — they simply don't have the time or remit to discuss them. That doesn't mean the evidence isn't there. Deanna always works in coordination with your clinic's protocol, never against it, and will flag anything relevant to your medical team.

"I've already had a failed cycle. Is there still time?"

Yes. In fact, many of Deanna's best outcomes have come after a failed cycle — when there is time to look properly at what might support a better result next time. The 12 weeks before transfer is the window that matters most.

"I'm not sure I can commit to weekly sessions around my clinic schedule."

IVF schedules are unpredictable — Deanna knows this. Priority diary access is built into the programme specifically so your sessions can flex around your clinic dates, scan appointments, and protocol changes. Sessions can be rescheduled with 48 hours' notice.

"I'm going through this on my own. Is it still suitable?"

Absolutely. Solo parents using donor conception often carry the full emotional weight of the process. All 13 session credits are yours, your sessions are tailored entirely to you, and Deanna's support is consistent throughout.

Deanna holds a postgraduate Diploma in Obstetric & Gynaecological Acupuncture — one of the highest clinical qualifications available in this field — and specialist training in reproductive immunology with Naava Carman.

She has supported hundreds of people across Middlesbrough, Teesside, and the wider North East through IVF, IUI, donor conception, recurrent implantation failure, recurrent miscarriage, and complex immunological presentations. Putting £799 in perspective. A single private IVF cycle typically costs £5,000–£8,000. The question worth sitting with is not whether this programme is expensive — it's whether 12 weeks of specialist preparation, timed precisely to your protocol, could improve your chances of that cycle working. Broken down, £799 is around £66 per week across the programme.

Your questions answered

Things people often ask

When should I start relative to my IVF cycle?

The programme is designed to begin 12 weeks before your egg collection and transfer. Stimulation typically begins around weeks 5–8 of the programme — giving your body time to build a solid foundation before the most intensive phase of your cycle starts. If your timeline is shorter, please book a consultation and Deanna will advise on the best approach for where you are.

I've already started stimulation — can I still join?

The full 12-week programme is not suitable once stimulation has begun. However, Deanna does offer support for clients who are mid-cycle or approaching transfer. Please book a consultation to discuss what is possible for your current timeline.

Will this interfere with my IVF clinic's protocol?

No. Deanna works alongside your clinic's protocol, not against it. She reads your test results, understands your medication schedule, and builds treatment that complements what your clinic is doing. If anything relevant arises that your clinic should know, she will always advise you to inform them.

I'm a solo parent using donor conception — is this for me?

Absolutely. All 13 session credits are yours and your sessions are tailored entirely to your individual pathway, health history, and protocol. All family structures and conception pathways are warmly welcome at the clinic.

My cycle was cancelled or delayed — what happens to my programme?

IVF journeys are unpredictable and Deanna knows this. If your clinic delays or cancels your cycle, your programme can be paused. Credits are valid for 9 months from the date of purchase.

£799 feels like a lot when we're already spending so much on IVF.

This is an honest and understandable concern. A single private IVF cycle typically costs between £5,000 and £8,000. The question worth asking is whether 12 weeks of specialist preparation could improve your chances of that cycle working. Broken down, £799 is around £66 per week — that includes sessions, email support, nutrition guidance, your transfer protocol, and consistent specialist care throughout. If cost is a genuine barrier, please mention it at your consultation. Deanna wants to help you find the right level of support for where you are.

Is the programme refundable?

The programme is non-refundable once purchased, because your diary slot is secured and Deanna commits her availability to you from the moment the programme begins. Sessions can be rescheduled with 48 hours' notice. If exceptional circumstances arise, please speak with Deanna directly.

What if I conceive during the programme?

Your remaining credits move into pregnancy acupuncture — first trimester support, birth preparation, or whatever is most helpful at that stage. The care continues.

Still have questions? Book your consultation and Deanna will answer everything specific to your situation — your history, your clinic, your protocol.
